15 Sep Job Retention Scheme: Fraudulent Claims
The Chief Executive of HMRC, Jim Harra, recently told the Pubic Accounts Committee that as much as £3.5bn has been over claimed from the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS). This is due to errors in claims or fraudulent activity and the department has received thousands of calls to its fraud hotline.
In response to this, HMRC has engaged its staff on compliance work to get employers to check their furlough claims, as well as focussing on fraudulent activity.
Tetley Tax Consultants has very recent experience of dealing with JRS claims whilst working for HMRC so are ideally placed to assist you if you consider you need help checking your returns or may have made errors in your CJRS claims.
